Where and when is the festival screening & awards ceremony?
The 2026 Zero To Hero Short Film Festival screening and awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, 27th September 2026 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Spazju Kreattiv Cinema, St James Cavalier, Valletta, Malta.
Where can I buy tickets for the festival?
Tickets can be purchased online through Spazju Kreattiv (https://spazjukreattiv.org/event/zero-to-hero-short-film-festival-2026) or by contacting their box office at +356 21 223200. Ticket prices are €8 for Standard Admission and €7 for Concessions (students, senior citizens, and Special ID holders).
What is the maximum budget for a film?
For the 'No Budget' category, the limit is €1,000. For 'Micro Budget', it's €1,000 - €10,000. For 'Low Budget', it's €10,000 - €100,000. The absolute maximum budget for any submission is €/$/£ 100,000.
When is the submission deadline?
Submissions for the 2026 edition are now closed. The official 2026 winners and finalists have been announced and will be celebrated at our live screening event at Spazju Kreattiv Cinema.
How do I submit my film for future editions?
When festival submissions are open, entries are accepted exclusively via FilmFreeway. Keep an eye on our website and social channels for announcements regarding upcoming editions.
Can I submit more than one film?
Yes! There is no limit to the number of films a filmmaker or producer can submit, provided each film meets the eligibility criteria and a separate entry fee is paid for each.
Do I need subtitles?
If your film is in a language other than English, it MUST have English subtitles to be considered.
Are there restrictions on genre?
No. We welcome all genres—drama, comedy, horror, sci-fi, documentary, animation, and more. We are looking for unique voices and compelling storytelling.
